Whilst I usually browse the charity shops with nothing much in mind, just a magpie’s roving eye, occasionally I do actually go on a quest.
Part of the joy of thrifting of course is stumbling across the unexpected. But when shopping for any item in particular, the chances are that the quester will return disappointed.
I thought that was going to be the story yesterday.
I single-mindedly went through every shop on the high street like a dose of salts. And had precisely nothing to show for it.
Until the last one. Where – hallelujah – my prayers were answered!
I have a mission. Well, a commission actually, for which I have been hunting down vintage tea towels.
And I struck tea towel gold…
They may not look like very much at the moment, but I have something special in mind for them.
When I got them home they had my tender care lavished upon them.
They were washed, line-dried and ironed with care.
Today I will be plotting and planning and drawing diagrams. And there will be a new blade in my rotary cutter.
I can say no more just now, but there will be further posts when there is more to report.
I also stumbled upon a few other unexpected goodies. But I think they deserve a post of their own.
Pop by tomorrow if you want to see! ♥
mmm – quite envious of that haul!
…kindred spirits indeed…..have my own stash of these that have taken on many a new guise….will be watching with interest to see what you do. Enjoy them!
Very intriguing. Can’t wait to see what you do with them!
Wow what a haul… the thrifting gods were obviously smiling on you … Sarah x
