Sorry this is a bit late, but after yesterday’s exertions I gave myself permission to have a night off blogging – and a bit of a lie-in to boot.
Yesterday’s event was, by anyone’s definition, a roaring success.
I sold quite a lot of things. More than I’ve ever sold on a stall before, in fact.
I made new friends and bumped into some old ones.
I bought a couple of things…
Being The Forgotten Library‘s first customer, I got the pick of the bunch of her vintage cigarette card stash.
I love these miniature works of art!
And the plant stalls (of which this is only one – there were at least four!) were amazing…
I wish I’d had more time to shop at the start of the day, but by the time I got away from my stall they’d all virtually sold out.
I did manage to bag this amazing sculptural eryngium…
I love it, despite getting spiked more than once on the way home!
I even swapped. I love swaps, so thank you to Ali of Ov robin for suggesting it.
I swapped cushions for this lovely limited edition hand-pulled screen print…
Apologies for the terrible photo, but I didn’t want to risk ruining my prize by taking it out of its plastic bag before I have a suitable frame for it.
Ov robin’s website and shop is coming soon, but in the meantime you can check out some of her other designs via gifted scribble.
Outside, the rain rained – but just enough to drive the punters indoors from time to time, and not enough to dampen spirits.
And the sun did shine – but just enough to give everyone the opportunity to spend time in the garden without making anyone sunburnt or boiling hot.
The other thing I really regret not having more time to peruse properly was Rachel Ainley‘s stall.
Rachel has been a local crafty heroine of mine for some time, but the selection of bags and purses on her stall yesterday just made my heart skip a little beat…
Another addition to the wish list methinks…
My own customers ranged through happy children, nostalgic elderly ladies and fashionable little girls, to vintage fabric lovers of all ages, crafty mamas, collectors, heavily-pregnant ladies and a few bemused men.
By day’s end my face ached from smiling, my stock was reduced by a whole huge bin-liner-full and I went home tired but happy.
The best day.
Wish you could all have been there. ♥
Wish I could have been there too, would have LOVED to look at all Rachel Ainley’s amazing purses and bags, they look amazing! So glad you had a good day, and just for your information, blogging about an event the morning after isn’t late!!! Hope you have a lovely relaxing Sunday after your busy day. xx
What a wonderful day! Your stall looks absolutely gorgeous too. If we didn’t live on the other side of the world, we’d be there! 😀
A stall full of fabulousness!…of course you sold lots…it’s all gorgeous. Have a vintage fair next weekend and its always that unknown quantity that gives me sleepless nights…I love it but will they?!!
Yay! Sounds like you had a fab day all round 🙂
Congratulations – all your hard work was appreciated. Your stall looked amazing. Well done!!
So glad it all went well and so wish I could have visited – your stall looked fab!
