There was something I didn’t mention yesterday about my trip to Boyes in Arnold.
I discovered that Arnold also has some great charity shops.
And after perusing their selection of goodies and picking up a rather nice vintage sheet and pillowcase, I had anotherĀ very lucky find…
Not just one, but a set of six cups and matching saucersĀ from the Tor Viking range designed by Turid āTuriā Gramstad Oliver.
You can read more about this design and the designer via h is for home’sĀ blog. There are a few nibbles out of the rims of the cups.
One has a hairline crack near the handle.
There is quite a lot of crazing on the saucers and some of the print has rubbed off with use over the years.
But for Ā£2.75 for the whole set, I’m certainly not complaining.Ā ā„
omg how awesome! I might have to consider moving back to Arnold, I lived there in the last century!
When I lived in Sherwood and had a direct bus route there on my doorstep I used to go there a lot, but since we moved it’s not somewhere I visit very often. I used to love the wednesday night flea market too!
Well it was back in the 70’s when I lived there, and I don’t remember it being a very exciting place to live, I moved to Sherwood briefly before ’emigrating’ to Brighton, now that is an exciting place to live! I used to go up to Covent Garden for my jewellery supplies, my bf at the time was a fashion designer, probably where most of my inspiration comes from!
Great find!! I have one Tor Viking mug that I found in a junk shop for 50p, it’s a lovely design – and just our colours!
That design is certainly right up your alley! What a great find!
Great finds!!
Love it, I used to go to Arnold with my Nana every week to look round the charity shops. x
Did you (or your Nana) get any bargains Mrs Fox?
I remember once getting a pair of red boots and at the time thinking they how cool! Looking back I think they could have been a fashion low….
OMG what a find – you have the best luck! Love š
