I apologise if today’s post looks remarkably similar to yesterday’s, but I spent most of yesterday running around buying school shoes, school uniform and school equipment for lad, whose term starts today.
I would not have believed the impossibility of purchasing a plain navy blue sweatshirt, had I not spent so many hours trying every possible shop in town trying – and failing – to track one down.
I comforted myself with the thought that had I been more organised and bought the required school items at the start of the holidays, they would now no longer fit, given the huge growth spurt he has undergone over the last six weeks.
Anyway, by the time we got home I was so knackered that I ended up asleep on the sofa in front of Total Wipeout. How appropriate.
I didn’t think you would much want to see photos of me, red-faced and sweating in an inadvisable crimplene frock (it turned out much hotter than expected), getting grumpy in shoe shops or haranguing lad with frequent recitals of the phrase “and will you actually wear that…?”
Consequently, despite my best intentions, the only other thing I had time to do yesterday was to finish off my commission for Rachel.
The extremely long “to do” list didn’t get a look-in.
But hey, tomorrow’s another day.
A peaceful, lad-free day.
I will miss him. ♥
The cushion looks wonderful! And together they make quite a happy pair. 🙂 We waited ’til the last minute for school shopping as well. I always intend to start sooner, but never do… Enjoy your day tomorrow. Hope you’re not too lonely. It gets so quiet when they’re gone, doesn’t it?
It has indeed been very quiet. But I have got so much more done than when he’s around! 🙂
Loving the teatowel cushion – inspired! 🙂
