It’s been a while since I made any tweeties.
But I thought they would be just the thing for the Vintage Playground Showcase, which is coming up on 1st September.
In case you don’t know, Vintage Playground is a Showcase of handmade wares made from vintage materials for little ones. It is organised by Anya Wood of Aussie children’s vintage clothes shop Sherbet Tree.
There are lots of other fabulous makers taking part in the showcase, so do be sure to pop over to facebook and check it out , especially if you have little ones to buy for.
But pop on over on 1st September even if you haven’t, because the array of wares on display shows just how inventive folks can be with vintage fabrics.
Like this gorgeous Miffy house cushion from jodi-jo retro:
Or this fab tipi by Poetic Baby:
Lotta (in the top picture) and Blossom (below), my newly-hatched tweeties, will be making their appearance there too.
Love these! How much for a Tweety Pie?
They’re £15 + postage each.
Think one needs to fly in my direction please. No rush until after your fair but its a definite order from me. X
Thanks lovely! No problem! Any particular fabric / colour you would like?
You choose…we have same taste I feel! Just colour…the more the merrier! X
I love them! 🙂
Love your tweeties too – so very happy 🙂
Just wondered where you found those wonderful ceramic birds that are in the first picture above… are they originals or modern reproductions ? Great colours. Great blog too. Thanks Craig
Hi, they are Carlton Ware dishes from the mid-1960s. I started collecting them some years ago, when they were somewhat cheaper than they go for nowadays. One came up on eBay recently and sold for over £25, but I didn’t pay anywhere near that for mine.
Thanks for the info, they’re beautiful. Love the yellowy one in particular. My folks had one of their gargling fish jugs that was a little ugly in comparison. Pity they didn’t collect these instead lol
