I have been known to like a black frock, but other than that I could not be described as “emo”.
According to the dictionary: “Emo /ˈiːmoʊ/ is a rock music genre characterized by an emphasis on emotional expression, sometimes through confessional lyrics.”
A fan of emo, is “a person who is overly sensitive and full of angst or adopts a certain style characterized by dyed black hair, tight t-shirts and jeans, etc.”
In my mind, emo is a young person’s thing. After all, you don’t see a lot of emo pensioners, do you? (Not that I’m quite a pensioner either – yet.)
But I think that internally, I probably do have some emo sympathies.
Anyway, I made an emo doll. Just because I could.
He is a black beetle. Black beetles are, after all, most of the way to emo-dom in their garb anyway, without even having to try.
He is definitely not a dung beetle though.
I don’t think emo boys would approve of dung.♥
I love your new look, so pretty. I also love Emo Boy and his tiny feelers and his sombre armoured, iridescent outfit.
Ah, thank you! Trying out a new look. Tricky now I don’t have PicMonkey to use (they make you pay for it now and I am too frugal for that!)
I used to use PicMonkey as well, but I make do with the photo editing suite on iPhoto on my MacBook. It’s not quite as user friendly but it’s pretty good, and best of all, free.
I’m using iPiccy, which has many of PicMonkey’s features but is free.

Thanks! I’ll go take a look and maybe give it a try.
As always, your posts are a delight to read. Thank you. Emo does look lonely ~ any plans to make him some friends?
Perhaps… there is something quite satisfying about making small miserable-looking insects!
So cute! Love what you wrote about him!
