I made this apple pendant a good while ago – and I kept it for me.
I’ve worn it a few times.
Even though I partly kept it because I didn’t get the string quite right… the stitching was a bit wonky and ran off the edge.
But I liked the fabric it was made from, so instead of re-doing it, I just hung onto it.
But alas, I had a mishap with it yesterday.
I pulled off the hanger thingy (bail? bale?) when I was pfaffing about trying to fasten it.
It must’ve been one of the batch made with the dodgy glue. Good job I didn’t sell it after all!
But rather than get the glue out and fix it I found another use for it…
It even perfectly matches my coat, which is the same green, and has three-quarter length sleeves to show it off!
And instead of glueing the… hanging thingy… (bail? bale?) back on, I’m going to turn the apple pendant into a brooch.
So every cloud has a silver lining.
Even if not every pendant has a silver… bail? bale? Whatever it’s called. ♥
It’ll make a pretty brooch. Not so much recycling as upcycling….
The serendipity of dodgy glue!
