As I mentioned yesterday, I am off on holiday camping in France in a few weeks.
We went last summer. The place we are going to is blissful, situated on the river Sioule in the Allier, Auvergne. It can be very hot. And this summer we are going earlier, so it is likely to be even hotter.
Last year, in anticipation of the heat, I bought a few cheap cotton frocks.
The yellow one above was a £5 bargain. But I only wore it once.
It’s a bit short, you see. Above the knee in a way that a few years back I’d have been fine with, but now…
It’s too nice a frock to just dump. So I bought this pretty bit of vintage on ebay…
… and I’m adding it to the hemline:
Hopefully the result will be summery, without being too… milkmaid.
Anyway, it does mean that my frock will see the light of day again.
But the area above my knees won’t have to. ♥
Great idea…great dress and what a bargain!
It is lovely … perfectly pretty and will be so cool in the heat … Bee xx
So pretty, love it!
what a pretty frock – and such a fantastic bargain! 🙂 But now, even prettier (and more expensive looking) with the ‘antique’ extension. Well done 🙂 Carina
Looks fabulous – great idea! 🙂
I like it even better this way. Excellent job!
Love the lace addition! Beautiful. Have fun in France!
So, so beautiful! I love this. x
