I may have mentioned before – I absolutely love the internet and the lovely people you can meet there.
When I left my job a couple of years back I was sorely lacking in faith in people. I felt severely bruised and confused having been on the receiving end of a bad situation.
How things change…
Yesterday my cheerful postie delivered a parcel from bloggy friend Bee, of The Linen Cloud.
Inside was this beautiful book… a most unexpected gift!
I have followed Jane Brocket’s blog for ages. Her photos are so perfect.
And coincidentally, I had been thinking of asking for this particular book for my birthday.
Bee noticed that I had pinned a couple of images from it to my quilting and patchwork pinterest board and as she had a spare copy, she thought of me!
Take a look at some of the beauty within…
Praise be to the internet and the restoring of faith in people.
And huge and heartfelt thanks to the generosity of a friend, whom I have yet to meet.
I love this. I love everything about it. I can’t say enough how much I love social media and how it is – contrary to what a lot of people are saying – bringing people together.
I can only agree! I know there are unpleasant people on the internet, but thankfully I have come across very few of them. And as someone who spends a lot of time on my own at home, I really appreciate the friendly contact I have with people via this blog, twitter, facebook, instagram, etc. Thank you to everyone who takes the time and trouble to brighten my days x
I love this book & Jane’s writing/ blog too. I love the way she shares the sources of her inspiration for each quilt with the reader and how it relates to the final design.
Cheering-up all ways round.
That is a genuinely lovely post – I agreed, it’s amazing to find similar souls with the same interests.

Bee’s ace! And it looks like a lovely book, I’m looking forward to seeing some of your quilting projects in the near future!
That’s such a sweet thing to do! I too have been amazed by the lovely people I’ve ‘met’ online. x
I have this book too (as well as the Gentle Art of Domesticity – I recomend it)! I love it & it’s inspired me to get back in to Patchwork!
I love reading your blog, keep up the sewing, I look forward to seeing more finished sewing projects. 🙂
Thanks nettynot! I am working on one or two things at the moment, but they’re not ready to reveal yet… Better get busy!
