So finally, the commission I have been working on is done.
Well, the first part of it at least.
Meet the Jewel family. All are made from Sarah Campbell’s wonderful Melodies fabrics for Michael Miller, in the Jewel colourways.
Mum, Dad, boy and girl (oh, and girl’s toy cat, Little Leaf) have been such fun to make.
The fabrics are in such wonderful patterns and colours – all tone together beautifully.
My main problem has been deciding which designs to leave out, as there were too many to make use of them all in one little family of dolls.
Chapter two of the commission starts tomorrow, after today’s half-term outing with friends and kids to see Arboria, the new Luminarium by Architects of Air (I’ll try and take a few phone snaps).
There will be a second family, this time made from the other colour range, Tropics.
I’m looking forward to getting stuck in to the new set of colours.
And creating a fresh set of new personalities to match their tropical vibe. ♥
Thank you enormously – I am so delighted with these – and looking forward to more…x
I’m so glad you like them Sarah!
I love your elegantly bohemian bunny family, such a pretty gypsyish vibe to their outfits. I’m wondering what will come with the tropical family – perhaps lovely Hawaiian shirts, sarongs and board shorts, with tangled saltwater curls and maybe some wild red dreadlocks! The little family is brilliant, and ought to sell like hotcakes.
You have just read my mind Kate! I was thinking something a little Carmen Miranda-ish stirred into the mix perhaps, too!
They are adorable! I think you did a great job. Just wondering how tall they are.
Oh my goodness, they are absolutely amazing – I LOVE them! They work so perfectly together – the perfect blend of fabrics. Sheer genius 🙂
Thank you! Glad you like them!
