You may remember that I decided to take part in Mary Emmens’s second vintage sheet swap which is happening next month.
Well, yesterday I did a bit of sorting out.
Time to select the fat quarters I will be contributing to the swap.
Alas I found, when I started looking properly, that I actually had surprisingly few vintage sheets in my stash.
They don’t turn up very often around my neck of the woods. And when they do, they usually aren’t very inspiring. Lots of plains (meh), a few browns (yuck) and lots of bobbly 1980s polyester (ugh).
So these four are what I came up with.
I will be cutting up and sending them off shortly.
To me, they aren’t quite as nice as I would have hoped. But they are the best I have in quantity.
I just hope the other participants in the swap won’t be too disappointed with them. ♥
I’m still umming and ahhhing (how on earth do you spell that?!) about whether to join in – I actually only have 2 vintage sheets and I’ve used quite a bit of them recently. I have bought mostly fat quarters in the past, so all the ones I’ve got I want to keep. I’m on the look out for sheets and bigger pieces now – you can do so much more with them… Hope you get some lovely pieces in return 🙂
I’m sure there will be other swaps in future Zoë!
I suggested the swap in case you had a single sheet in your stash you might want to swap a fat quarter or two from, to increase the range of your stash.
That’s why I like the idea of swapping – I generally only use relatively small bits of sheets (for patchwork mainly), so a double sheet would take me forever to use up.
Lovely choices, especially the blue, I look forward to receiving them!
I’ve actually just found another sheet Mary – a pink double one – but it’s so nice that I’m still debating whether I can bear to cut into it just yet!
