It’s a very satisfying feeling, finishing off a substantial commission.
I had that pleasure today.
It all started with my “nice!” cushion, which inspired a commission, that led to another commission…
Not one, not two, but three special cushions, for three girls with the rather lovely names Robin, Silver and Una.
The brief was something not overly pink; preferably green or purple.
So this selection of fabrics was offered as a starter for ten…
Once the choice was made I was a tiny bit worried about the pale hearts not showing up properly against the neutral background.
But after I’d got done with the stitching, that green thread showed it’s hidden talent for providing just enough outline to solve that particular issue. And I loved adding the little floral embellishments!
Those started with Robin. I cut out a flower to use to dot the “i” – and the leaves I’d cut off looked so nice that I thought I really ought to find somewhere for them, too…
And then, I didn’t want Silver or Una to think there’d been any favouritism.
So I added little flowers to their cushions as well. So now those three lovely names are displayed for posterity in vintage fabrics.
If you should ever feel like getting personalised, you know where to come. ♥
They’re great! I really like how the green thread acts as an outline for that heart fabric.
Lovely!!I have never been a fan of Home or Bathe or such words dotted around but these are lovely. I did make a Twat cushion for a very good friend last Xmas as a backlash to all the Kirsty A sickly nonsense! Xx
