The skirt is progressing at a pace. Pockets are on, seams are sewn, the zip is in.
Nearly there!
Just the interfacing, waistband and hem to do in next week’s sewing class.
Making clothes is so exciting!
When I got home from class I had to hang my skirt up in front of different pairs of shoes, in anticipation of when I shall wear it.
I’m liking the colour match with my Birkenstock clogs!
My next make will be a frock…
Now I just need to find the right fabrics. What a great excuse to go shopping!
I love the fact that for this frock I don’t have to choose just one, but a combination of two lovely fabrics!
And each combination makes for a completely different look.
Like these… the first fabric would be the main part of the dress, the second would be the trim:
As usual, I’m having trouble deciding.
Which combination do you prefer? ♥
I like the fourth combo personally. Loving the skirt but getting a bit distracted by your bedroom decor…
Haha, what you can’t see in these photos is the rest of the bedroom… the floor should’ve been painted a year ago; secreted behind the curtains are two mirrors and a poster that should be up on the walls, and normally, that chair in the first photo is piled high with clothes that should’ve been put away!
Well I love it all obviously, but think I really like the first selection the grey and orange combo….
Although my second choice is the reds!!!! Any help!!
I love the first and the last……. Any help??? x
Still thinking… might have a rummage through the stash cupboard today whilst making cushions and see what there is in there. I really ought to use what I’ve got before buying yet more fabric, though I’m not sure I have large enough quantities of many fabrics for the main part of the dress. Maybe I should pick out trim and buy another fabric to go with that.
For spring I like the 1st one! but the third one is very modflowers!
Your skirt is super, what is the pattern you are using for the dress or are you cutting it yourself!!!
Bestest Daisy J
The pattern is the Chelsea Dress, designed by Christine Haynes and available from Backstitch.
Just catching up with your lovely posts, your skirts going to be fab! Must catch up soon, have a coffee……you can wear your new skirt! 🙂 x
I love the orange and grey and reds … your skirt looks great … it must be so satisfying to be able to say you made it … Bee xx
It will be, when I finally get to wear it! It’s a bit of a mental adjustment, watching it take shape bit by bit, from the instant gratification of actual clothes shopping!
I like the gray and yellow (first) and bold red (last), but honestly, I love them all and would wear them all. The skirt is fab!!
I think i like the first one. I am quite envious, I would like to be doing this too. The skirts lovely, really nice. Heather x
The skirt is looking good! I’m enjoying watching it progress. I’m also loving the first fabric combo, and the glimpses of your home!
