Just so you know, I still hate the cold.
But sometimes it is a source of such beauty.
We went icicle hunting on the way to school.
A bit of a thaw the previous day, followed by a ridiculously hard frost, made every guttering a fertile hunting ground.
And the morning was blessed with an hour of sunshine, as if to show off it’s new, spiky creations to best advantage.
Of course when you hunt, you always need to bring home a trophy.
So I now have an icicle in my freezer.
To preserve for some warm sunny day, when being cold is just a distant memory.
I hope that day won’t be too far away.
Beautiful!!
Love the last shot especially!
I have an icicle in my freezer too! We have had some huge ones about 2-3 feet long and as you say they beautiful.
I’m glad it’s not just me that’s daft enough to bring one home! x
I LOVE this! I love how you captured the fun of the hunt, how you look for fun in the midst of the cold which you do not love, how you’ve shared the fun! Love it, love it, love it!
