It’s funny how, when the weather is hot, it affects your colour sense.
The past few days have been scorching.
I have spent much of them in the kitchen, the coolest room in the house from around ten am onwards, with it’s stone floor and doors open wide onto the garden.
As the sun moves around the house, so do I, shifting to the living room for sewing until the sun gets round to the front and drives me back into the kitchen again.
I have craved some cool blues.
So I picked some lavender from the garden for the mantlepiece and made a cushion from this new blue vintage fabric…
Tomorrow I am going to make another cushion, from this scrap of vintage loveliness, also new:
If not, it really should be. ♥
This glorious weather has been a challenge but like you I have a different sewing routine to embrace the cooler parts of the house and the day…much activity early morning and discovered the joy of hand sewing in a deck chair…with Pimms of course!
I daren’t mix alcohol and sewing! I look at stuff I made and have to unpick it all next day. Or I accidentally stab my fingers repeatedly with the needle!
Haha….I do try to keep the booze as a reward for getting the work done and not getting distracted by deck chair and book….not wholly successful !
Plus we have uncomfortable garden furniture. Must remedy that one!
Oh my goodness I love that cushion!
Lovely cool blues – I adore your front room! I’ve been cool hunting and moving around too – so thankful for some breeze today – and a chilled glass of vino! xx
Do you know where i can find the blue pillow cover fabric?
It’s vintage, so you can’t buy it any more. Your only option is to watch for it on ebay really. I don’t have any to sell I’m afraid.
