I’ve been thinking about the packaging for my pendants and brooches recently.
With thoughts of Christmas gifts, I decided to get some little boxes to put them in.
Finding the right size has been tricky.
The pendants’ fabric strings take up more space than a chain, and therefore don’t fit easily into a standard box.
Typical! Make life difficult for myself, why don’t I?!
But, at last, I’ve managed to find some suitably plain, suitably-sized, suitably-priced ones.
In keeping with my passion for recycling and upcycling, they’re made from 100% recycled material, 50% of it post-consumer (the most eco-friendly sort of recycled paper products).
I also have nice little round labels to put on them. So people know where they came from.
I’m not sure about the ribbon in the first photo, but it’s all I happened to have around. I’m going to experiment with other colours.
Or possibly vintage fabric scraps…
Anyway, it means that if you buy a pendant or brooch as a gift, I can make it extra special by supplying it in a nice box.
One that’s not all made out of ticky-tacky. ♥
Vintage scraps would look better I think… Cx
why not use the stickers to secure the boxes? – saves time and money, looks good and your name isn’t hidden beneath ribbon…
That was my original intention Sarah, but I found it made the label hard to read and means it would get torn when the box was opened. Plus the box looked a bit plain with nothing on the top!
mm, i found some smart clear round stickers for sealing scarf boxes, and put my sticker on the top – tricky business!
Great idea! The ribbon does conceal the name. Think it will look better without it.
Great boxes. I love that necklace! If I weren’t currently out of extra money, I’d need that. 😀 lol
