Treats make the world go round, don’t they?
I don’t know how I’d manage without treats. They break up the monotony of normality. They make both people and occasions feel special. They motivate and reward.
There are times when treating yourself is the only thing to do. Like when you’re on holiday.
And times when treating yourself is a bit inappropriate. Like when you’re shopping for Christmas presents.
However, I think a case can even, sometimes, be made for the latter. In my book, there is always a case to be made for the sort of little treats you feel you have earned.
These were my treats the other day…
I’d had a very successful trip around town, with several rather special presents ticked off my list in record time. I was feeling rather smug.
So I treated myself as a reward for my endeavours.
They’re vintage, of course. They didn’t cost much at all.
But their value goes beyond money. The pleasure of finding them. The anticipation of using them. The inspiration they provoke.
So, go on…
Find something small, something inoffensive and perhaps inconsequential to others, and give yourself permission to feel a little joy on the run-up to Christmas.
Treat yourself.
Because we’re all worth it. ♥
