Sometimes you just can’t help yourself… you fall in love.
But the path of true love never did run smoothly, did it?
Especially when ebay plays cupid.
In this particular tale of the heart, once upon a time, girl was introduced to chaise longue via ebay.
Girl fantasised about chaise longue. She daydreamed and imagined all that their life together could be.
But chaise longue was from a high class family, and expensive, and far away, and girl, sighing, told herself not to be so silly, because chaise longue could never be hers.
However, girl kept sneaking glances across cyberspace at chaise longue. These furtive glances were accompanied by more sighing, and a hopeless longing that only grew with each passing day.
Chaise longue sat, beautiful and impassive, untouchable.
Finally, chaise longue’s day passed. Girl had to accept, with much sadness, that it just wasn’t to be.
Until, one day a few weeks later, chaise longue reappeared. And girl’s heart leapt, as she had not forgotten chaise longue.
With a new, reduced price, chaise longue had become, tantalisingly… just about possible. As long as nobody stood between them. As long as nobody bid more than the minimum price.
Girl made her bid… and held her breath… and finally, the chaise longue that had won her heart was… won!
Girl was impatient to get chaise longue into her bedroom.
In a state of rapture, plans were made, couriers were contacted and eventually engaged, to bring chaise longue and girl together at last.
It took a few weeks, but girl remained constant, content with the promise that she and chaise longue were to be together soon.
Girl entreated courier to let her know when she might take possession of chaise longue. Courier made promises, gave dates that came and went. Girl contacted courier again. There had been a mix-up! A different chaise longue had been collected – it was the wrong chaise longue!
But after much trauma (well, a good few emails flying back and forth), girl and chaise longue were finally united yesterday.
And although it has been a saga that has left a few scars, on both girl and chaise longue, it’s all right now.
All’s well that ends well.
I think that chaise longue and this particular girl are going to live happily ever after. ♥
