When I heard the name Margot, my first thought was of The Good Life.
I used to love that programme. Barbara Good is the reason I always call dresses “frocks”. I wanted to be just like her.
But I also used to love Margo Leadbetter, the Good’s next door neighbour, with her snobby ways and constant attempted one-up-womanship.
However, I have to say, I love this Margot more.
Margot is the brainchild of four talented makers, Elbojojo, Geoffrey & Grace, LouLou Tyler and Made By Sally Whiting.
They have come together to set up shop in a beach hut in Worthing, selling their makes and offering workshops.
I have to say, I find the whole idea of a makery in a beach hut absolute genius. I mean, the two were surely made for each other! Brilliant!
Alas, I am in landlocked Nottingham, which is nowhere near Worthing. If I was nearer, I’d be in there like a shot.
To browse, to buy, to chat – and just to admire the general loveliness on offer.
If you’re anywhere in the vicinity of Splash Point, do pop in and say hello to Margot.
Or stop by Margot’s Facebook page, or visit her inhabitants online (links above – just click on their names).
There’s also lots more about Margot on Geoffrey & Grace’s lovely blog.
As you can probably tell, I’m just mad for Margot. ♥
It l
It looks wonderful I can see why you would want to go. Everything looks so well made and different. What a great idea. Your pieces would look great in a space like that x
Me too! And it’s probably within range for me….can;t wait to take a trip down there soon. Your pictures are very enticing!
I can’t take credit for the photos Naomi – they are the work of Melanie at Geoffrey & Grace!
I can quite see why you love it – it’s absolutely your idea of shopping paradise, isn’t it? The kind of place it’s virtually impossible to walk out of empty handed…
Yep! Probably a good job I don’t live too near!
I love your blog but the font makes it difficult to read so I often skip what you’ve written in favour of just looking at the pictures, which seems a bit of a shame as I know I am missing out! Making the text a darker colour would probably help. It’s a lovely font but not very reader friendly 🙁
BTW I’m on the South Coast and my brother lives in Worthing, so I might have to go see Margo in person!
Oh, I’m sorry to hear that about the font, bamcrafts. I got a shock actually when I saw my blog on someone else’s laptop recently – my fonts didn’t appear, as their machine obviously couldn’t see them (although they are all google fonts and supposedly viewable on any website) and the blog looked completely different – not good at all.
If you have a mobile device the blog looks different there as it has a standardised responsive theme – the fonts and layout are all simplified when viewed on a tablet or smartphone and might be easier to read that way perhaps?
Thanks again Sharon for sharing Margot in all her glory. We’d love it if you were near enough to come for a pot of tea… and to spend some of your pennies too 😉
If I ever got inside Margot there’s no chance I’d be leaving without parting with ALL my pennies! 🙂
Ah, the lovely Margot! I’m looking forward to visiting when we move out that way – I popped in in holiday, but she wasn’t set-up then. It’s a really lovely spot.
How exciting! I would love to live nearer to the sea…

I fell in love with Margot for the first time on Saturday and it’s every bit as gorgeous as the above photos show. The sea was sparkling and glistening, Margot was dazzling in hues of gold and sunflower yellow. A true delight and a perfect place for buying a One Off gift…..whether it’s for someone else or yourself. Margot is Magic. Fact.
