I had lots to do yesterday.
Packing for my Pretty Dandy Flea stall today (do pop down if you can, won’t you?)
But I stopped for a little break and a browse of the new Plumo catalogue that had plopped through my door that very morning.
Lots of lovely things lay within.
And then my eye alighted on this:
Statement necklaces are everywhere at the moment. I thought: “hmmm, that gives me an idea!”
I had a few cover buttons left over from making brooches as I had run out of brooch pins and glue.
So despite all the things I should have been doing, I embarked on a project.
A statement necklace – for me.
It’s not finished yet. I think I need to make more buttons.
It will give me something to do during quiet moments on my stall today.
But I quite like it so far!
What do you think?
Fabulous idea! I think it looks great so far – what a great way to cheer up an outfit and enjoy all your beautiful fabrics 🙂
Can’t wait to see the finished necklace! How brilliant to use up all the tiny bits of some special fabrics.
I love how new creative ideas just appear! Your necklace is going to be fabulous.
Thank you!
Great idea! You might play around and make the parts larger for more impact.
I don’t have any larger buttons at the moment, but yes, that could look good.
I love the jewellery you have made with the covered buttons. I make jewellery but I now work with semi-precious stones but playing with my grandmothers button box is what first inspired me to make jewellery and I love to see lovely pieces that are still being created.
