I’m sorry if I’ve been a bit lax with my blogging this week.
It can be difficult to write interesting blog posts when you’re engaged in a big project, as it involves doing the same thing all day for several days.
Namely, sewing white sashing to my vintage tea towel squares to progress my quilt commission.
Sounds boring eh?
Well, maybe to read about yes, but not when you’re actually doing it.
I had forgotten how much I enjoy being immersed in repetitive activity. I used to love bagging up lentils when I worked in a wholefood co-operative many years ago for exactly the same reasons.
Listening to the radio all day long, activity punctuated by the occasional cup of tea, with your mind free to wander where it will and something satisfyingly achieved at the end of the day…
I do love it perhaps more than I should.
And I have made progress…
Time to order some backing fabric for stage three next week!
I’ll try not to bore you all with it too much ♥
So very neat. Crisp. x
It’s looking so cool…and neat. My favourite days are those you describe! X
What a great idea for a quilt. That is going to look amazing! I know what you mean about repetitive tasks. Sometimes they can really be so relaxing.
A really cool project.
It’s all so neat! I’d love to be able to sew like that 🙂 But I am going to learn – just need lots of practice…
Absolutely! I look at photos of the quilt I made 18 months ago and I’m SOuch neater now – it’s just practise!
Love it … the white really makes the graphics ping! … Bee xx
The quilt looks good already . . . I love how each square tells a story.
Cheers,
Lynda.
Not bored in the least! Love the quilt. Really inspired in its design and feel.
