I love mondays.
On mondays, I have the house to myself.
I get to sew all day, if I want, without distraction. At least, until about 4pm when lad bowls in from school.
On monday this week my partner was away overnight too, so with just a brief interruption for tea, I could carry on sewing all evening.
Which meant I got lots done.
On mondays, I don’t have to go out if I don’t want to.
Although yesterday I did go on a little errand, through the park to collect my newly-sharpened dressmaking scissors from the cobblers down the hill.
What utter bliss awaited when I got home. Snippetty-snipping with abandon again, instead of hacking and chewing at my fabrics.
It certainly aided my productivity.
Not to mention my enjoyment.
Don’t get me wrong, I do love the weekends.
I often sew then, too. In between spending time with the family, doing stuff together. Which I also love.
But when it comes to proper sewing, it’s nice to be alone again.
Indulging myself with some sharp scissors and a stack of vintage fabrics.
My kind of monday fun. ♥

I’m the same, usually – but I’ve been painting walls and doors and skirting for weeks now…although I have a day of sewing today to keep my sanity 🙂 I ADORE the first kitty bag (the one in your IG pic) – any chance I could reserve him/her? Will it have a strap? I think they look amazing with straps 🙂 Thanks so much Sharon xxx

I’m making the straps today. The strap for that particular bag can’t be in the same fabric though, as the bag used the last of that beautiful fabric. The back of the bags is in canvas wood-print fabric and the strap will be in that – like this:

Painting is being done out of necessity – we are going to sell our house and want to get it on the market soon – hoping to relocate nearer the sea – all very exciting, terrifying and exhausting in equal measure 🙂
Now I’m singing Bob Geldolf :-). I am usually ok with Mondays, but Friday is my home sewing day. It’s easy to love Friday. Everyone loves Friday. But how lovely to give poor old unloved Monday it due. Love all your new creations!
