I don’t really know what went through my mind when I bought these.
Normally, my eye is drawn to the bright, the cheerful, the… well… some might say loud.
But my most recent few mooches around the local charity shops have proven singularly unsuccessful on that front.
I think I’d just had enough of coming home empty handed.
So I bought these.
They’re a bit more muted than my usual style.
But I’m sure they’ll come in for something. ♥
muted colours are such a useful foil to the brights…
well, I like them! Sometimes muted is good (although I do particularly love your bright vintage sheets)

I rather like the brown and white especially if it is cotton? Wouldn’t mind some of that myself, it would contrast well with bright, big and bold! Cass x
Puts me in mind of autumn (which sounds rather nice while having humid, tossing and turning nights). The brown could be a great accent to magenta. I think you could make some mushrooms and use it for the stems!
Or you could overdye the brown and white print, with orange, for example. And remove the cream crochet lace and dye it pink to go with the pink embroidered flowers. But the cream floral is beyond me…. except as a low value print to contrast with saturated ones…
I have reconciled myself to them all now. I have a plan hatching to make use of some of my napery, so the pink embroidered flowers may play a part in that.
The other bits also I think I will find a use for, as they are small scale prints and therefore whilst less lovely than bright, large-scale ones are very useful for little snippety projects, of which I have some in mind.
I think they’re all rather lovely, especially combined together!
