I thought I would try something new with my wooden birdies.
Now you can wear one around your neck!
I tried out the one above and wore it to the Pretty Dandy Flea, as it went nicely with my frock.
I had tried hanging it from ribbons and thongs and even a chain, but nothing had looked quite right… until I decided upon a bit of recycling…
I snipped one of the ties from my recent tabard purchase and the vintage fabric just seemed to set off my new birdie pendant nicely!
I had so many compliments on it that I thought I would make a few more.
All that is left to do now is to choose – and stitch – suitable bits of pretty vintage fabric to hang these ones from. Unfortunately, I don’t have any more tabards to recycle!
I do, however, have lovely little silver toggle fasteners for the backs, which will be sewn on along with a little silver-coloured heart.
Just to ensure that anyone wearing a birdie pendant will look every bit as alluring from the back as from the front 🙂
Great idea – they look lovely! Might have to get myself a birdie necklace – I get a lot of compliments on my brooch but it’s on my coat so sometimes I have to take it off! Hope your weekend is nice despite the sadness of your week. Lots of love. xx
Thanks Rachel! My partner has a stomach upset, but we are hoping it subsides enough to go out somewhere for a walk, as it is a lovely day here. Hope you are having a fab weekend. x
Very cute – we love the brooches that arrived in the mail this week. Thank you. Hope your weekend becomes a good one
I’m so glad they arrived safely and that you are pleased with them! We did manage to get out for a walk yesterday, although my poor partner still isn’t properly better yet.
Very cute! and what a fantastic way to showcase fabulous fabrics. Love the Rob Ryan vase too – i have the very same one. x
I was lucky enough to be bought the vase as a gift. I do love it!
