You could say that these cushions are made of something old, something new and something blue.
Nothing borrowed though.
And they are nothing whatsoever to do with weddings. They are just part of the stock I’ve been getting together for my stall at the Sherwood Christmas Craft Fair on Saturday.
The old is the brown and yellow floral barkcloth, which I wrote about here. Yes, I finally got up the nerve to cut into it!
It is soft as butter. There are a few flaws in the weave, but I think it is just lovely.
And it tones so well with my “something new” cushion…
This one’s my favourite. I absolutely love this fabric, part of my recent haul of new acquisitions.
I also love the way it tones with the barkcloth.
I nicked a bit of it for my appliqué commission as well:
The “something blue” is an old favourite that, to be honest, I forgot I even had.
It has been lurking in the cupboard for about a year since I last made anything from it, so it’s about time it saw the light of day again.
They’re a happy trio which should brighten up my stall, anyway.
I’ve only got a few more days to get everything ready.
I think I need to speed up with my preparation…
Spending half the day shopping, like I did yesterday, does not stock a stall.
And it’ll take more than three cushions, however pretty, to fill it. ♥
Beautiful! I’ll say it once again…I really wish I could go!
Great cushions, I love them
I keep saying it, but you really do have the best fabric collection – I love all of them! I’ve set myself lots of eBay alerts for fabrics – but sometimes it feels a bit like a needle in a haystack…BUT I do have a bit of a stash, so I’m going to get making some cushion covers after my sewing course finishes this weekend 🙂
The compulsion to collect fabric can be a cruel mistress Zoe! Good luck with the sewing. If you need any tips, ask away.
