I hate thinking about Christmas too early.
I’m a habitual last minute type. Present buying the week before, tree decorated on Christmas Eve, up all the night before wrapping presents, that’s me.
But selling things that people might just want to buy as gifts for Christmas requires slightly more forward planning.
So I have Christmas on my mind at the moment. I’m trying to work out what exactly I should be making for my stalls and my shop. Any feedback on which I would be very grateful for. What (if anything) might you like to buy?
And there is another reason I have Christmas on my mind a little earlier than usual this year.
I mentioned that we will be having guests over the festive season. Exciting guests…
Yes, the Aussies are coming! We are all hugely excited that my sister, her partner and lad’s three lovely cousins will be with us for Christmas!
I want to make their all-too-short time with us fun, and exciting, and perfect. I am full of ideas and plans and anticipation.
One knock-on effect is that I will be shutting up shop for Christmas a little early – on December 14th to be precise.
Because after that I will be busy with my lovely family. We are off to London to meet them and do the town together!
So…
If you have any requests, please request away ASAP.
And I will do my best to not leave everything to the last minute – as usual. ♥
Ooo lucky you. I have a brother in Perth in W Aus. Would love to have Xmas with him and his family. Enjoy enjoy!! Xx
Eeeeeeep that’s so exciting! You’re going to have an amazing time. I think look at what has sold well through the year, and make more of that…tweeties and jewellery will make brilliant presents.
The only early Christmas preparation that I tend to do is buying the kids presents (mainly books) throughout the year, and stashing them away…and that is more about me being unable to resist a good book than any organisation or planning on my part. I have started to realise that if I ever want to make a proper go of this making things lark I will have to start making Christmas stock in the summer…I’ll start next year, honest! xx
I’m rubbish myself Rachel! I have stuff made, but can’t seem to summon the will to put it up in my Etsy shop to actually sell it! Partly I’m terrified that it’ll sell and then I won’t have anything to put on my stalls, and partly I can’t get it together to take decent photos and go through the rigmarole of listing stuff – it takes ages!
Oh, by the way, I’ve just realised that I have an invitation from Etsy to send to people which invites them to open a shop and get their first 40 listings for free. I’ll forward it to you! (And to anyone else that is interested in opening an Etsy shop, if they let me know!)
I hope your visit is as perfect as you hope! I am also a last minute sort of person, but this year I didn’t even decorate for halloween, (it’s my absolute favorite decorating holiday, but we’ve had workers at the house) and so my mind is already wandering toward Christmas. I will have to send you a message…
