“The thought of having every little crafty bit…all organized and ready when a moment of creativity strikes …oh, what a dream, having everything organised, not losing anything again ever, not having to move everything round to make space…”
I didn’t say that. Rachel did. But actually, I couldn’t have put it better myself.
Rachel’s comment, on a pinterest pin, made me feel… very wistful. And frustrated.
Because I can never seem to find anything.
I tear my hair out looking for stuff all the time.
I had to move everything around to make room for people and things before Christmas. And now, some of the things I moved seem to have vanished – poof! – into thin air.
Like, all of the plushies I had left after my last stall before Christmas. And some of the fabrics I need for a commission.
One day I’ll have a dedicated sewing room. Or a studio. Instead of just a pinterest board full of pictures of other people’s.
It might not actually be that tidy. Or organised.
After all, I’m not.
But hopefully it’ll be somewhere with no Bermuda Triangle making things disappear.
One day…♥
I hope you find all your things. I think a studio is a great item o have on a wish list
I actually had to go out to buy some Bondaweb today, as I could not for the life of me find the stuff I already had. Pffft.
Oh those images are just beautiful – nice to dream about! I am lucky to have a (very small) room of my own to work and craft in – but it’s pretty crammed! I was literally crawling under my desk this morning to get past my photo set-up and hunt for something….I knock things over all the time! I still love it, though. Hope your things turn up. xx
Oh can I join n your drams of one day… To be fair I do have an attic where my sewing machine is kept, but it’s far too freezing up there in the Winter, leaving me to sew n the summer and spring and knit and crochet in the warm house in winter and autumn. I shouldn’t complain really…x
I swapped my bedrooms so I could have the largest space as my studio. I figured I spend more time making than sleeping! However, every few weeks I have to go through everything just to remind myself what I have stashed away. Some of my best designs have sprung from those “I forgot I had that” moments…….down side is the more space we have the more we fill it!! I live in a padded cell…..literally!
I hate feeling my memory deteriorating as I get older. I blame it on all the brain cells I destroyed during my mis-spent youth!
I’m currently in a bit of a quandary as to whether to convert the spare bedroom into a sewing room, or focus instead on doing up the house ready to move…
It is great having everything in one room….at least I know it’s in there somewhere!
I wish I could say having a craft room makes finding things easier for me…but I’m not sure it’s the case. Of course, if I had fewer things inside said room it might be a lot easier. ;D lol I have a tendency to lay things down in odd spots too…
I’m sure that would be the case with me too Erica! I’m a not-naturally-very-tidy person forced into the role of a general-dogsbody-and-tidy-upper for our family, and although I like to be in a tidy environment, I find that I resent the time I have to spend tidying as it takes away from the time I have available for making!
Do you have a source on the 2nd photo or more specifically the tall cabinet with a bazillion drawers? Absolutely love it. Thank you.
The picture comes from German homewares company Hubsch and the cabinet is one of their products – it appears in their catalogue here: http://www.deluxe-catalog.com/140/3372/publication.html
You can find Hubsch stockists via their website here
ooh yes please . . . . an organised sewing space, especially one that looks even half ways as good as some of these pics and pins, how amazing would that be!
