When I was in Australia you may remember that I discovered the source of cheap fabric goodness that is Spotlight.
I bought quite a few fabrics, none of which I have made much use of as yet.
This is one of them:
I think I had some vague idea of using the cute animal prints for appliqué.
Anyway, whilst pfaffing about the other day I came across the Spotlight stash and this fabric in particular – and I had a sudden thought as to other uses for it…
Or rather, one use, but with two possible applications…
Pincushions or plushies!
The little sad-faced pooch reminds me rather of Dottie Angel’s cute doggie, Little Olive:
Lad took one look at him, belly not even sewn up after stuffing, and pleaded with me to adopt him.
Well, what’s a mother to do?
A clone has been created which, along with the rest of the menagerie, will be on sale at my next stall.
The only problem is, how do I describe them? Pincushions or plushies?
Perhaps for those of a sewing persuasion they can be pincushions.
Whilst for those too tender-hearted to contemplate sticking pins into them, they can be plushie pals. 🙂
I’d mark them, for example, as a sausage dog that could be used as a pincushion. They’re bound to go whatever they’re called as the fabric is so lovely
great idea, they look great.
