I have endless admiration for those who print their own fabrics.
It is an ambition of mine to learn how to do just that in the not-too-distant future. I love the idea of producing something completely from scratch.
But for now, I am restricted to admiring the creations of others.
Here are a few of my current favourite hand printed fabrics. Hover over the photos to see the makers – and click to be taken to their shops, where you can buy the designs pictured.
They’re just the thing to inspire some spring-fresh projects!
All so lovely! I think the Helen Rawlinson Lollipop flowers is my favourite – I haven’t seen her work before, it’s lovely. I did fabric design & printing at college – it’s really my first love! I’ll get back to it one day… x
Jealous! I’d love to know what I’m doing, but never had the chance to do any screenprinting at school. Definitely a project for the future.
What lovely fabrics! I’m glad you collected these here. I have a secret, hidden dream of designing fabric, even if on a small scale. I think we can do it!
Absolutely beautiful … I am determined to try screen printing this year too … I have a great book by Lena Corwin ‘Printing by Hand’ … which includes screenprinting and textile printing … I would love to find a course though … Bee xx
