It’s very handy having a friend who is an even more enthusiastic – and talented – vintage rummager than I am.

Once again I was running out of eyes.

It’s because making owls uses twice as many buttons as making tweetie birds. The button stash gets depleted pretty darn quickly.

I was actually down to my last couple of pairs. So I asked my friend Maria, of Sunshine Lovely Vintage Stuff, to bear me in mind when she was out on her frequent rummages, in case any suitable ones should cross her path.

And being the star that she is, she came up trumps!

In fact, she only had to rummage through her own extensive stash of goodies at home!

Unfortunately, those ones above have been knackered by whichever over-enthusiastic button-snipper was on duty in the charity shop on the day they were parted from their garment.

Yes, they snipped off the shanks as well.

But still, what a lot I got!The arrangement is reciprocal with Maria.

I occasionally manage to tip her off when I’m out on the rummage, about things that she might find suitable for Sunshine.

When I can resist buying them myself, that is. ♥
