Some say it is better to give than to receive.
But not me. I am firmly in the “better to receive” camp.Ā I love receiving gifts.
However, sometimes people give you things that you love, but are not quite sure what to do with.
I got this lovely thing for Christmas from one of my best friends…
I love it!Ā It’s so pretty!
But I just don’t ever drink water in bed. I never have.
So… what to do?
If I know one thing for sure, it’s that I always have plenty of scraps.Ā I can’t bear to throw them away.
In particular, I always save the cut-off end bits of the pendantĀ strings I make, because I hate waste.
And they come in handy for making these:
I had beenĀ keeping my stringy-end-bits separate from my other scraps, in a box.
But they look so much prettier in my matroyoshka jar!
What’s your best bit of gift repurposing? ā„
Oh lovely! I have stacking juice cups in that design (that I LOVE sipping juice from). The same friend who gave me the cups also gave me a vintage china mug with a funky bird on it. I love the design but the mug is small and a little tippy, so I know I will dump tea on myself if I use it as a mug. I put it on the windowsill over the kitchen sink and put my bracelets and rings in it when I wash dishes. I also get to look at it often this way.
Good idea!
The last carafe I had, I broke the glass, so must be more careful with this one as a headless matryoshka would be a shame!
Cute!
What a great idea, it looks so pretty. I’ve always loved matryoshkas, and would love something like this. Not sure if I’d use for water or storage though!
