You may remember that, back in April, I went to see an exhibition at the Lace Market Gallery in Nottingham.
Whilst I was there, a whole bunch of people got together to contribute to a collaborative embroidered work by artist Joy Pitts – and this is the finished article!
Merino sheep has been created in collaboration with Huntsman, Savile Row, London, for Wool Week UK 2015. It was made in response to The Campaign for Wool, led by patron His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales to raise awareness about the beauty and versatility of wool.
Four hundred and fifty participants (of which I was one) stitched WOOLMARK labels with Merino wool.
I think I contributed about half a dozen or so of these…
You can see the finished work on display in the window of Huntsman on Savile Row in London this week – along with some real life sheep, apparently…
And there are more photos on Joy’s website.
Oh, and in case you thought I’d forgotten, I have a winner to announce for my bunny boy giveaway…
