size matters

colesquilt1So yesterday, The Fear got a good kicking.

In fact, it has now been banished. From this project at least. The class I took was a great success.

The quilt is all laid out and pinned up, ready to quilt.

I have a new walking foot – and I’m not afraid to use it. And my quilt was a hit with the other ladies in the class.

Several of them asked me where the lovely fabrics in it were from. They were quite impressed by my bit of upcycling when I told them they were actually old teatowels, I can tell you.

It was also fun seeing what other people were making…

modflowers: vintage teatowel patchwork quiltYou just can’t beat the sheer joy of laying out a quilt on a truly enormous work table.

I can’t deny it, in some things, bigger really is better. ♥

  1. Oh, I’m so with you on the table! I used to have a huge one I could lay out a king size quilt on, but that was a few years ago, and now I live in a much smaller house. Sometimes I pine for the table, and it was only made of a few internal doors with screwed on Ikea legs…

  2. Hello again
I have been reading through some older posts and came to a screeching halt at this one – that is one glorious quilt you made there. I am chewing my knuckles that a year or so ago I got rid of stacks of souvenir tablecloths…..
    Keep up the lovely work
    Best wishes
    Jenny
