Day six of my stash stories. Something for the sunny summer days.
A fabric a day from my stash, with it’s story.
Today’s fabric was a bit of a faux pas.
By which I mean I bought it for dressmaking, but when it arrived I realised it was totally unsuitable for its intended purpose.
Lovely, but far too thick for making any sort of dress out of.It’s another one of those “not quite what I thought it was going to be when I bid on it” ebay purchases.
I’m getting better at avoiding them, but I still have the occasional fabric fail, like this one.
Still, its a lovely quality bit of stuff. A classic curtain fabric with a silky weave, like the best quality Heals fabrics.
It may even be a Heals design, though not one I am familiar with.
If anyone knows more about Genevieve Marchetti, I would love to hear.
And if anyone has any suggestions for what to do with this nice bit of sturdy curtain fabric, do let me know too.
A skirt, perhaps? ♥
I would make a nice big shopper bag with it, lovely fabric. Xxx
Cover a deck chair? Loving your stash stories.
Could you make a jacket out of it? A kimono type of one? Or – a bag x
I like the tulip design. Maybe you could make a little make-up bag or wash bag out of it! I made a wash bag recently, but it was out of Hello Kitty fabric (for my friend, who loves Hello Kitty). Please see my post on ‘The Hello Kitty Birthday Party’ for pics! 🙂
Hi just catching up on your stash stories, loving them 🙂
Could be good for covering a book? Art journal perhaps? Or a pencil roll? Bag for pool or beach?
