Day ten in my series of stash stories. A fabric a day from my stash, with it’s story.
A bit of summer fun whilst I’m away on holiday.
Number ten was a charity shop find. From the expensive place around the corner.
An old, faded St Michael double duvet cover, it’s potential could so easily have been overlooked.
But I examined it closely and found that it’s faded pattern had a nice, almost scandi quality about it.
And it only cost £2.50 for literally oodles of fabric, so despite it being pink, which isn’t one of my most favourite colours, I bought it.
It just so happened that not long after, my friend’s little girl decided she wanted a pink patchwork quilt.
For which purpose my pale and interesting purchase proved utterly perfect. ♥
Delightful …..pink not one of my favourites either.
Your stash stories are really enjoyable reading … I love the pattern although pink isn’t a favourite of mine either … the quilt is beautiful … Bee xx
Loving the stash stories and what a pretty quilt, now I look at my horde of fabric in a completely new light and you are so right each piece does have its own little story to tell, call me wacky but it got me thinking wouldn’t it be great if vintage fabric could talk what little stories would it have.
Oh gosh, imagine if your curtains told tales on you! It doesn’t bear thinking about!
Wow – it looks absolutely fabulous as a quilt – you definitely have an eye for these things 🙂
