So here we go with the third of my stash stories. Something for the sunny summer days.
A fabric a day from my stash, with it’s story.
My third fabric was, like many in my stash, bought on evilbay.
Which doesn’t make for a very interesting story in itself.
And looking at the photo above, you’d be forgiven for thinking that it’s not a very interesting fabric either, being brown-ish and sort of blodgy-looking.
But you’d be wrong!
I absolutely fell head-over-heels in love with this stuff at first sight.
At the time, I was collecting barkcloths in shades of orange for an intended quilt, as I had just finished making this one…
I was hunting for large-scale florals, with the thought of making a similar quilt in a sunnier sort of colourway.
But whoa! Scandinavian birds? Dancing girls in hats and pigtails? Magic mushrooms??
How could I not buy that?!!
I probably paid way too much for it. I was a bit naive back then.
But I’m glad I have it in my stash nonetheless. ♥
Oh how I would love to own that fabric! Whatever you paid, it was worth it. 😀 Actually, I believe I paid a ridiculous price for a fabric once, I’d share the story, but I can’t remember… 🙂
I love it! Worth every penny. Xxx
