We are rather excited today in the modflowers household.

We are going somewhere special for Christmas…. Yes, we are off to the other side of the world again, to catch up with my sister and lad’s cousins!

This time it will be a short beach holiday with them, rather than an extended stay at their home. With lad at secondary school now, we can’t just swan off for six weeks as we did last time.

The trip has been paid for by my lovely man, an act of huge generosity made possible by his dad’s legacy.

Grandpa Alan only met the cousins once. We popped in to see him and Nanna Pat in Dorset, on one of my sister’s all-too-rare trips to England when the kids were small.

He loved them immediately and always harboured an ambition to visit them in Australia.

The trip sadly never came to pass. And now both Nanna Pat and he are gone.

All I can say is a big THANK YOU.

And make a promise that we will carry all their love across the globe with us when we go. ♥
