Commissions are always a collaborative affair.
When someone asks me to make them something to their specifications, there’s usually a good few email messages fly back and forth before all the details are agreed and settled.
It’s important to make sure we’re on the same wavelength, so that the person commissioning gets what they want.
Normally my commissions are made from fabrics already in my possession.
But this particular lovely barkcloth was not already mine.
My third-party collaborator was Rachel at Rainbow Vintage Home, who sped a fat quarter of this lovely stuff my way, as per my customer’s request.
And here’s the finished article…
