I love getting stuff in the post.
Especially when it’s stuff that opens up a whole new world of possibilities, like today’s delivery.
I mentioned that after my day at Hope and Elvis with Jess Quinn I was inspired to track down some new tools and materials. Something other than fabrics, that is.
Well, I am a woman of my word. My googling finger was quite tired by the time I had finished, I can tell you.
But it was all worth it.
I have bought paints. In super colours…
And a super-fine paintbrush.
Expect to see something painted – like, maybe, dolls’ faces perhaps – in the not too distant future.
I am not about to embark upon self-surgery.
Or even to go fishing – despite the fact that I bought my other bit of kit from a fishing supplies website.
Nevertheless, I do have a pair of these…
These particular forceps are, I discovered, the perfect thing for turning itty-bitty narrow sewn things inside out. They were an utter revelation.
No more death-by-chopstick! No more cursing my lack of fingernails!
Moggy feet, doll legs – and any other itty-bitty narrow things within striking distance – are about to get turbo turned.
There’s nothing quite like having the right tools for the job, is there? ♥
they look great – good luck..!
I think they’re called haemostats, and I’ve wanted a pair for ages!
The website I got them from just calls them “fish forceps”!
I think surgeons use them for temporarily clipping off blood vessels during surgery. Sometimes there’s a whole decorative fringe of them around an incision!
Ah yes, I’ve seen that on telly! Apparently fishermen use them to pull hooks out of fishes mouths too.
They’re very cheap if you look on fishing supplies websites – mine cost less than £5.
I’ll have to see if they have them in Australian fishing shops!
Fish forceps! I hate turning itty bitty things right side out. I think I need to go hunt down a fish monger, distract him and swipe his forceps while he isn’t looking 😉
I was told they are used by fishermen to remove hooks from the mouths of their catch – so maybe hanging around on the riverbank would be better!
Ooh I could use a pair of those forceps – I hate turning legs inside out! Thanks for sharing, as always 🙂
