This little bear was my Mothers Day gift from lad.
He liked the idea of giving me a bear hug, from an actual bear. And so do I.
The bear (who was made by Natali Bright) has been sitting on the kitchen table for a while.
This is because it’s only tiny, not actually big enough to cuddle up to. And not quite ornamenty enough to put on a shelf somewhere.
Anyway, yesterday I kept picking up and pondering the little strip of pink patchwork I had left over when I trimmed my latest stitchy picture.
I hate to waste any pretty bits. And suddenly, an idea came to me of what to do with it.
After some debate about whether my bear was male or female, and whether therefore pink patchwork was potentially unsuitably girly, I decided to press on regardless.
It’s not the neatest bit of stitching I’ve ever undertaken, but it was literally a ten minute job.
I think Androgynous Bear suits his / her new waistcoat.
After all, male snooker players like fancy waistcoats, don’t they?
And potential girlyness should never prove a barrier to fancy waistcoat-wearing, in my book. ♥
Extremely fetching!
Cute. I love the little coat.
