Just a quick heads-up that my vintage fabric destash sale, as mentioned in my previous post, has now commenced over on ebay!
I’ve started by listing vintage bedding and curtains mainly, as most of these are the biggest fabric pieces I own and therefore take up the most space – and making space is what this is all about.
Well, that and raising funds towards my own garden studio, which I am ridiculously excited about!
Do any of you reading this have a garden studio? By garden studio I mean a smallish, separate building of some sort in the garden (that’s not just a spidery shed filled with old plant pots and bikes!) which you use as a workspace. If you do, how do you heat it? The thing I’m most nervous about is that it will be cold – and I hate the cold, so I really need to know that I will be toasty warm in there. All information or suggestions *warmly* welcomed (see what I did there!)
But back to my vintage fabric destash sale…I am listing new items every day at the moment. New “Buy it Now” items will appear daily as I sort through my collection and photograph them. The Buy it Now items are just up there until someone buys them, or until I decide to take them down.
New auction items are going live each Thursday evening at 5.30pm British Summer Time. Auctions are all on ten day listings, so people will have time to browse and bid, with the auctions ending on a Sunday evening.
Unfortunately, the vintage fabric destash sale is UK only (sorry).
If you are looking for anything in particular, drop me a message or comment on here and I will attempt to see whether I have what you require in my stash.
There’s a lot to sort through and I am more than happy to do a deal, though please bear in mind that I am hoping to maximise my income from this sale, as I have a shedload of money to raise to realise my super-shed studio ambition.
As for the rest of my fabrics, I am thinking of maybe putting together a few “collections” – complimentary selections, perhaps themed by colour, of a number of smaller pieces from my stash for a fixed price. Would that be a good idea, do you think?
I’m also throwing a few other vintage bits and bobs into the big sell off; for example, there’s a rare Hornsea Pottery mug up for sale that I found at the back of the kitchen cupboard and is never used so I had forgotten about it.
I also have a few very pretty vintage fabric half aprons that I just couldn’t bear to cut up (but maybe someone else might).
And there will no doubt be other things that materialise from the darkest corners of my cupboards and boxes and baskets and bags as I ferret about and rediscover stuff I didn’t know I had.Anyway, thanks for reading this far and if you’re in the market for adding to your vintage fabric collection, or just looking for inspiring sewing material, I hope you will check out my sale on ebay. Maybe even more than once.
You can find all my ebay listings here. ♥
Good luck! I’m obviously out of the running, but I hope you make a motza and the studio comes to life very soon.
