When I started making this, it was going to be another Dobbit.
And so it is, although this dobbit-y thing is more doggity than rabbity – on purpose, I hasten to add.
I got as far as completing the body and face, apart from embroidering the features.
Then wine o’clock arrived… so I heeded it’s call and settled down to a glass of red and a bit of family telly-watching.
Now normally, when wine o’clock strikes, I heed and interpret it’s chime to mean that sewing time is over for the day.
Not for me the charms of alcohol-fuelled stitchery. Boozy sewing has never really held much appeal.
But alcohol has a tendency to blunt one’s judgement, doesn’t it?
Keen to see my doggity-thing completed, and with all my sewing bits and bobs sat on the coffee table in front of me, I picked up my needle again and soldiered on – post-wine o’clock – with a bit of facial embroidery.
Oh dear. Bad move.
Next morning I picked up Doggity – to find it was so not a hot-diggity-dog. My wine-infused efforts were woefully wonky – and not in a nice way.
I put the kettle on and whilst lad slept off his latest summer holiday late night, I set to work with a will unpicking and re-jigging.
By the time lad was out of bed, Doggity was (re-)done.
My cup of tea had gone cold, but it’s small price to pay for a much hotter dog.
Now little Doggity’s much more my cup of tea. ♥
I can’t believe it was quite as bad as you make out, but she’s charming now, so perhaps it was a good move…
Doggity is really cute..love the heart on the ear! Love your blog!
Thank you Jane!
